Southwire's SIMpull Truck™ Earns NECA Showstopper Award

Wednesday, Dec 14, 2011

Electrical Contractor magazine selected the Southwire SIMpull Truck™ as a NECA Showstopper Award recipient during the recent National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) Convention and Trade Show held in San Diego.

The SIMpull Truck™ is Southwire's latest addition to its innovative SIMpull Solutions™ products and services, a revolutionary combination of wiring, materials, equipment and services, which helps eliminate job site waste, while cutting the time and labor costs associated with building wiring.

"The SIMpull Truck™ can make contractors more competitive by helping them improve productivity and lower total installation costs. Contractors can pull a job right from the trailer or they can move the entire pay-off to a specific location. The system reduces safety risks associated with loading and unloading reels, while just-in-time delivery eliminates inventory costs," said Brian McCardel, Director, SIMpull Solutions® at Southwire. "SIMpull Solutions™ products and services attracted quite a bit of traffic to our NECA booth and there was a buzz around the addition of the SIMpull Truck™."

The NECA Showstopper Awards are judged by a panel of electrical contractors and Electrical Contractor magazine contributors. Showstopper products are displayed with blue ribbons at the front of the NECA exhibit hall and represent the best of the best new products at the show.

NECA is the leading voice for the $130 billion electrical power, lighting and communications contractor industry. The group's annual convention attracts leading contractors from across North America interested in seeing the latest products and learning about new compliance and code matters, labor relations, workforce productivity and safety issues.

"Southwire recognizes that electrical contractors face a demanding set of performance goals they need to accomplish to keep their customers happy and run profitable businesses," said Jack Carlson, Executive Vice President, President, Electrical Division. "That's why we developed SIMpull Solutions™ products and services and continue to add to the innovative offering. The SIMpull Truck™ is just the latest breakthrough, and when you factor it in with time- and money-saving features like the SIMpull Head® pulling grips, SIMpull Stack™ colored, cut to length paralleled reels, the original NoLube® THHN and XHHW-2 cables, and a network of regional service centers that help eliminate downtime, you have a winning combination."

Since being introduced in 2009, Southwire's SIMpull Solutions® offering of products and services has racked up a variety of industry awards from various sources that recognize the products as being a smarter, faster, safer and more efficient way to handle the wire installation process. SIMpull Solutions™ products and services can be customized to meet specific project applications so that electrical contractors can decrease the time required on job sites, while delivering a quality pull. With SIMpull Solutions™ products and services, contractors can greatly reduce both cleanup time and the time needed for prepping a job, which together, streamline the installation process.
